I get pissed off every time I see Bush trumpeting his "war against terrorism" in Iraq. The spin has many Americans now believing that he - or more correctly the fine young men he sends over there- is fighting terrorism when it is plain to see it is strictly an oil grab. Whatever happened to those weapons of mass destruction he went over there to eliminate? How come Bin Laden and his Saudi Royal family connections are not even being mentioned. Can you really "win" a war against terrorism? How many body bags will it take before America withdraws from Iraq or will that be determined instead by how stable they can make the oil supply? Can Haliburton and smilin Dick win this war? Stay tuned.

If we're fighting a global war on terror, why are we not doing something more about the true terrorists, ie. Iran and North Korea? Aren't these the nations who are proven to currently posess (or have the capability to produce) nuclear WMD's? Why have we focused so little attention on the terror camps in Afghanistan? Why have we not found the true culprit for 9-11? Why do we insist on sinking further into the quagmire that has become Iraq? Why are we there in the first place since the Bush administration's reason seem to change every day? If we continue down the same path we have followed in Iraq for the past two plus years, it's sad to say, but we are going to have to reinstate the draft. That's when the sh** will truly hit the fan in America. Hopefully we wake up before it's too late!

I totally agree and so do many of my friends. Personally I believe the neocons allowed 9-11 in order to accomplish their greedy goals. I didn't agree with Viet Nam, and supported the anti-war cause then and do so now. I am very patriotic. I love America and live here because of my freedom to be myslef. No one has the right to contol another..not us, not them. This is about oil, money and power. Don't ever believe Bush has any altruistic purposes...his bank accounts, and those of his many buddies would show otherwise.
USAR 1966 you scare me. "get rid of everyone who doesn't agree with us." - rather Hitlerish of you - I think that's what the concentration camps were about. Your christianity is overwhelming...NOT.

If Bush wants to fight the war on terrorism, he can start in our own backyard. I live in a mid sized town and we have drive by shootings on a weekly basis, Bush is more interested in fighting terrorism across the globe then his own country. This is not a war of terrorism it is a war of power. Let's get a leader who wants to take care of AMERICA

Hey American--The war in Iraq has not deterred us from the rest of the War on Terror? Then how come our National Guard and Reserves are stretched to the limit and forced to rotate back to Iraq every three months? How come there's no one to defend against the looting and lawlessness in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina in Louisiana? Maybe because our army is stretched too thin due to war in Iraq? Maybe because instead of defending their state like they're supposed to, the poor LA Guard is in Iraq fighting a useless war for oil!!!

Well, having weighed some of the responses where people have attacked my supposedly drug addled mind, my awareness and my gullibility, I have to say that I'm still of the mind that George and the oil boys have done a superb job of convincing some Americans that this so called "war against terror" is both necessary and winnable. How sad and depressing. There has to be a better way for the most powerful nation in the history of civilization to make its citizens feel secure. I would like to know why America only selects certain countries to chase terrorists in? I would also like to know why America chooses only certain countries to "promote" democracy in. Is it just a coincidence that Iraq sits on top of one of the world's biggest oilfields? Sure don't see a lot of American action in Ethiopia or Sudan or the Balkans. Oh yeah, I forgot, there probably aren't any terrorists in those places. Flameboy

You need to wake up man, this is not Bush's war, it is all of our responsibility to chase these terrorists wherever they are. Look at Isreal, just pulled out of Gaza, and already a bomber tries to blow up a bus. They are making an effort to peace, but the terrorists do not want that. If we pull out of Iraq, millions will die. They will have the oil, next Iran, next nuclear weapons. It is not just Bush who wants the oil, it is you and me who need the oil. Can we win a war against terrorism? I sure hope so, because if we do not, the world will be a totally unsafe place. You will not be able to leave the USA for any reason. The borders will have to be closed down, strict security everywhere. Do you really think pulling out of there will make it better? On the contrary, it will send a message we can be beaten. And that is something we cannot allow. We need to protest alright, that we are not doing enough to get them. Procrastinating will get more of our people killed. Lets go and kick the living hell out of them!!

I'm assuming that there is a reason this person chose the name flameboy, and that reason is obvious by the total garbage/liberal spin that falls out of his mouth, flameboy is in reference to the way to many drugs he used as a younger person and left him burned out to the point of illrational thought, even on the most basic of issue's.wake up flameboy and try real hard to filter throuh all the FACTS and put aside your hatered for bush and the present administration and you may want to put North Korea,China,Iran and other smaller rouge nations into the equation and maybe just maybe you will see the need for our presence in areas such as the middle east and having democratic governments such as Israel and hopefully the new Iraq can only help us in the unavoidable wars of the future with some real military powers!!put out the flame flameboy and start thinking!!!!

Hey Flamerboy and CrookHater, ask yourself one question: "If Bill Clinton was in office, how would you be tripping over yourself to defend this war?" Put aside your hatred for all things Republican/conservative and try to look at the situation rationally. These punks do not want to discuss their issues or talk about peace, they want all non-Muslims dead, period. If you're a Muslim, then great news for you. If you aren't, then get your head out of the sand.

We need to get rid of all the people who don't agree with us. Pat Roberson is right. I for one am sick and tireed of the terrorists trying to run everything. Christians have had to endure much pain and suffering. The Bible ells us this is so. But now it is time for Payback. President George W. Bush is the closest thing we will come to a True Messiah in this centrury. I pray to him every day.

The war in iraq has never detered us from the rest of the WOT. This war on terror has no borders. We have troops in the Philipines training gov't soldiers fight Abu Sayaff(sp?) and troops in Africa training African troops to fight islamic terror groups down there. Not to mention Afghanistan. Iraq is just another part of the WOT. This war in Iraq has nothing to do with oil.

You know what I love about you lefties? You're such staunch defenders of freedom, and yet you would be happy leaving someone like Saddam(a gangster) in charge of a nation. The man had WMD's, when I was in the gulf during the Gulf War we found evidence of them. You know, it is possible to hide things, you can try this at home with someone's car keys. Ultra=left liberals again folks....when will they shut up? I served 8 years in the Army, I made Ranger, and I have lost friends. You know something? It makes me sick to see that they gave their lives, and we all gave our souls by killing people so liberals like you can leave this country defenseless until we get attacked again. Right now I am a paramedic/firefighter, and I attend WMD and terrorism lectures all the time. It is so unbelievingly easy to commit an act of terrorism in this country we have no choice but to hunt these people down. As far as leaving Iraq, what are you going to do? Even the liberal news networks (Cnn, MSNBC, etc) show that the Iraqi people are in favor of their new government, and that the insurgency is rather small. What would you have us do? Abandon them? Give them a "Well, we set you up, good luck" and pull out? Then you liberals would show your true colors, and start whining about how we abandoned them in their time of need. A liberal is never happy, period.
