Bush isn't a racist    Back to the homepage

If I was one of the majority of the population in New Orleans; I might think so. The Big Easy, every heart wrenching detail, however, takes its' place in the Big Picture: George doesn't care about anybody outside of his tightknit cadre. The war, Halliburton, gas prices, oil dependency, the deficit, the environment, the infrastructure, government service agencies: every decision is based on what's good for George and his buds, generally even that is based on the immediate benefit. I don't know which amazes me more: that the middle and upper middle class people who voted for him believe that he is dedicated to serving their interests, that somehow his interests are aligned with theirs; that he is so blatant and we keep rolling along figuring if it were really wrong wouldn't 'somebody' do something about it; or the Democratic party, who is being handed incredible material and just makes do with the hysteria of 'look, look, he's a bad guy'. He's not a racist, he has no use for any of us!

lurch1949 (9/17): I don't get why the Democrats are sitting on their hands and not impeaching this man. Are they afraid they'll look vindictive? They needn't fear. There is plenty of legal evidence to impeach, and oust him. All the Republicans had on Clinton was his insatiable sex drive--they still don't get that they only made themselves look bad by impeaching him. They weren't supporting any "morals", although that's what they would have us believe--lead by that sanctimonious hypocrite Henry Hyde who admitted that he had once cheated on his wife, but only when he thought a reporter was going to make it public anyway. He and the Republican party were out to get Clinton as payback for Nixon--never mind that Tricky Dick had committed numerous felonies and crimes against the Constitution. The Democrats in their wildest nightmares couldn't look any more vindictive, nasty, or vengeful than the Republicans did over Clinton. Clinton was a popular President. It's a fact that the majority of us who are married have strayed at least once. For that reason, most people didn't care--they could understand to some degree. Because he was so popular, the Republicans couldn't bring him down any other way--they could only do it by playing dirty. And that's just what they did. The Democrats wouldn't have to do that with Bush--he's not popular and he's left plenty of "smoking guns". And by the way, I don't think you posted just to win money. You've written what a lot of people are thinking and saying these days. I applaud you for saying it. Flostranynnek, you're like every other Bush supporter I've encountered--you attack those with opposing opinions personally, not with anything substantive or factual. So what else is new? (report)
