Governor of Ohio is saying now that the price of gas has kept people away from the pumps, thereby REDUCING the state taxes he can collect. So the road maintenance will be drastically reduced. Imagine that? Another "TWIST" to high gas prices. Can you imagine what would happen if everyone quit smoking and drinking? No "SIN" taxes, less gas being purchased, how can we survive without all the SINNERS, and the SUV drivers? Maybe the ranting idiots complaining about SUV's will have something else to complain about when their PROPERTY and RETAIL taxes are increased. Ohio will not be the only state effected by this.

Yes, I agree, and I wonder what excuse the Governor of Ohio has for the many years of poor roads and highway maintenance before this recent increase of gas prices. For many years, the State of Ohio has been collecting taxes on every gallon of gas sold. Now the Governor seems to be blaming people for not having enough money to buy gas at these exhorbitant prices. If all of us had his money, and his family's money, we probably could. Also, in observing road repairs, I have noticed that repeatedly in the Cincinnati area, road repairs done using up days of tax payers dollars, and very soon after, sometimes within days, they are torn up again to make repairs to pipes or whatever under repairs. The taxpayers are paying for the repair and then the taxpayers are paying again and again for someone else's incompentence. Our government, local, state, and federal, seem to think that taxpayers are a money tree.
