Madonna's started a bit of a craze, from the looks of things... Well, she always was a trend-setter! It seems that having lost custody of her own children, Britney Spears has somehow managed to get herself approved as an adoptive mother to two Chinese children. How? A judge ruled that Britney had to take random drug tests to ensure that she could see her children, but somehow she's passed the supposedly stringent screening applied to those who want to adopt? There has to be a problem there somehow. Parenting skills aside, there are a few other things to consider, such as why Ms. Spears wants to adopt in the first place. After all, even if she can't see them, she does have two children. These two children will be coming from a disadvantaged background to a new life in America, where they have a right to be given the best start possible. It's not fair for them to be used as Britney's substitute children. I'm sure that Britney has the best intentions in mind, however much I disagree with her. She must realise, though, that they won't be able to escape the “Britney Spears” image. Whatever she does, people will see these twins as the “Britney Twins”, and people will talk. It's not fair on the children and it's not fair on Britney's chances of winning her own children back - I can only hope that the people in the adoption agency will see that. There's still a chance to stop Britney making yet another big mistake.
