Yes, reality shows do suck, but if you love CSI and investigative/forensic anything, you'll love this. The first episode, I couldn't tear myself away from the TV.
Sunday and Thursday nights on A&E, "The First 48" is a part "Cops," part "CSI" hour-long program where different homicide departments from around the country are featured. The show usually follows two deaths that occur at the beginning of the hour, and you watch what happens in the "first 48" hours of the crime as the heads of homicide try to solve it. The use of police tactics is amazing. For example, they caught a serial killer who was calling in to 911 dispatchers to report the crimes by listening to the background noise of the call (in this case, a train horn) and then pin-pointing a 5 mile radius based on what they heard. Got my brother into it as well. Great show!

I LIVE to watch this show. My daughter even likes to watch it. It is raw, gritty and it makes us appreciate what these detectives go through to make sure these victims get justice. And yes, I agree, Kevin Ruggerio is a doll, and deserves a woman that loves him and appreciates the fact that he does a time consuming but rewarding job.
