I broke up with my boyfriend of 4 years and finally went out on the town as a single woman. Sat night, I met a cute guy, who seemed to be into me, asked for my number and never called! That blows! I thought every guy knew the 3 day rule! Have things changed in the last 4 years!!!

the guy sounds like a loser, his loss, your gain that he didn't call.

Hey Birdie, why didn't you ask for his number if you were so interested? When I was single I absolutely hated the traditional male-female roles, and I loved it when a woman would break out of it and show some guts by taking the risk that guys have always had to take. Sure, you get hurt sometimes, but we guys go through that constantly when we are expected to be the forward one. And by the way, the forward males usually are not the ones who make the best mates.

No, things haven't changed. A year ago I was in your position. So here's the scoop. Getting a number means NOTHING. Sometimes a guy will ask for a number because he feels like he should (you're hinting, etc...). Other times a guy might genuinely think he wants to call, but when the booze wears off...eeh- not so much. My advice. Enjoy being single for a while and try not to take things like this personally. As my mother says..."You have to kiss a lot of frogs before you find prince charming." And chances are it's not going to be in a bar.

I'm married and definitely out of the dating market, but I'd have called you. He should have too!

I am in a similar situation and I can tell you from a guys stand point life is much busier than when I was single before. I am an executive who works somewhat long hours, is into recreational sports and has a life. Sometimes life gets in the way. And yes making a 10 minute call is a task when you barely have time to eat. Did he ever call?
