The January issue of Car and Driver had a preview of the 2009 BMW 1-Series and here is an overview of what to expect from this car: The 2009 BMW 1-Series is a two doored coupe that can hold four passengers comfortably. It has a front engine and rear wheel drive. The base price can be anywhere from nearly thirty thousand dollars to thirty six and a half thousand dollars. There are two engines of the 2009 BMW 1-Series that drivers will get to choose from. The first is a DOHC twenty four valve, three liter inline-six engine with two hundred and thirty horsepower and two hundred lb-ft of torque. The second is a DOHC twenty four valve three liter inline-six engine that is intercooled and turbo charged and has three hundred horsepower and three hundred lb-ft of torque. The transmission on the 2009 BMW 1-Series can be either a six speed manual transmission or a six speed automatic transmission with manumatic shifting capabilities. The 2009 BMW 1-Seires will get between seventeen and nineteen miles per gallon when driving in the city and between twenty seven and thirty miles per gallon when driving on the highway.
