I think there are already plans to move to a play off structure next year. After the four BCS bowl games the top two teams (still based on rankings) will play one more final game to decide the Champion. I think it was put in place last year to prevent the Texas situation from happening again.

Yeah, even worse, teams stack their schedules with home games and stiffs in order to remain "undefeated" to get into the BCS. Back in the old days, there were years with no undefeated teams come bowl season, and in many years there was only one, and most of the time, they lost. Now, I wouldn't be surprised if all the BCS teams were undefeated, and there was another controversy because a fifth undefeated team didn't make the cut.
