Good news for all you audiophiles out there, and bad news for all you who finally gave in and threw out your record players! Vinyl is making a comeback. CDs may be more convenient, but after 15 or so years, the novelty is wearing off and people are starting to realise that there's just Something about vinyl. Perhaps it's the prevalence of internet downloads, legal or otherwise, but people are starting to appreciate more than ever before the feel of actually having the packaging, the artwork, and the finished product in your hands. Those who download mp3s are missing out on a vital part of the record-buying experience. In the same way that it feels better to see a painting in front of you than it does to see it printed on a postcard (or of course, on a computer screen), it feels better to have the disc there in your hands. And that's where Vinyl comes in. It's not exactly convenient for those who, for example, need to download mp3s to their Ipods - but whether you're at home or out partying, vinyl has that extra something. People quote that “warm” sound that you just can't quite copy with a digital recording, some people quote the extras that are now being bundled with many records – so what if it's cheaper, when was the last time that mp3 you downloaded came with original album artwork? But mostly, people will just admit that vinyl is just, well... more fun. Whatever your reason, let go of your mouse! Dig up your record player and head to your local record shop! Vinyl is making a comeback, let's make sure it's here to stay.

I'd have to disagree with this. While vinyl has the "capability" of good sound quality, this requires *extremely* high end equipment. Take it from a guy that happens to use a pair of technics turntables for his DJ'ing. Sound good? Sure does... But 24/192khz kicks the shit out of it. Vinyl is great for DJs... and is pretty much useless everywhere else, unless you're just *bleeding* with extra cash.
