Alternative Holiday Plans—Avoiding Restaurant Pitfalls    Back to the homepage
Views: 753 Report
It’s always a good idea to try to avoid the restaurant and social eating pitfalls that await a dieter this time of year. In the November/December 2007 issue of Weight Watchers Magazine, they list a few alternative holiday plans with friends that will still allow you to be social, but avoid the diet disasters that loom ahead. The alternative holiday plans that they suggest are generally pretty good and sound like fun. A visit to the day spa for manicures and pedicures is a great indulgence to partake of with your gal pals. Volunteering at a soup kitchen, a local hospital or a nursing home can fill your emotional needs. Going bowling with your friends can be fun, but I wouldn’t necessarily do that after a manicure! Doing a yoga session together is fun, but not exactly something I would consider for alternative holiday plans. Maybe that would be best after the New Year when everyone is making their resolutions. In short, there are several options available for alternative holiday plans if you put your thinking cap on. You are sure to think of just the right thing as opposed to a food fest.
