On A Diet? Alcoholic Drink Suggestions From Weight Watchers    Back to the homepage
Views: 6369 Report
Are you kidding me Weight Watchers? On one page of your November/December 2007 issue of Weight Watchers Magazine, you suggest skipping cocktails or ordering friendly alternatives like cranberry juice with seltzer or a virgin bloody Mary. On another page, you offer up alcoholic drink suggestions like a well versed bartender. Which advice are we supposed to take? I cant believe that a diet magazine made alcoholic drink suggestions when everyone knows that alcohol is a weight gain magnet! Are you purposely trying to keep us fat during the holidays? Instead of your alcoholic drink suggestions such as mimosas, whiskey sours and screwdrivers, why didnt you promote a diet soda? Or rehash your cranberry juice and seltzer concoction or virgin bloody Marys which are just 1 point and also count as a vegetable serving? Of course the best weightloss tool would be drinking water! Alcoholic drink suggestions---Im disappointed in you Weight Watchers! Shame on you!

stoner (1/11): There are people out there that appreciate suggestions like that! Shame on you for thinking your opinion is the only one that matters! (report)
Anonymous (12/17): I agree with you! Flip, Flop, Flip, Flop. I feel like a fish out of water. (report)
katiebug (12/22): You're an idiot! The whole point of Weight Watchers is to be able to maintain a healthy lifestyle by eating better, but still eating normal! There is NO SHAME in indulging in what you love, within reason and moderation, as Weight Watchers points out. By giving up everything would be like joining a Slim Fast program, which we all know don't work. The whole point of Weight Watchers, which I love, is to be able to change the way you eat in moderation that way even if you quit you hold healthy habits for life. You don't have to give up all those drinks you love, but you can substitute like you've said or drink them in moderation so maybe one margarita as a treat instead of 4! :P I love Weight Watchers it has made me a healthier and better person today so don't freak out about foods, they're here to stay.
